This is a spot for experienced surfers only, and while it is quite difficult to reach it certainly worth the effort for those who are capable of taking it on. It's a fairly remote location, so if you like big waves and no crowds then you will want to take a look at this place.
The beach is a big open area, consisting mainly of grassland between the shore and the road. It's a fairly quiet place most of the time, but it's really going off you'll find people come from far and wide to surf it. Water temperatures are about the same as everywhere else in this region, ranging between 15 to 18° C in summer and 11 to 14° C in winter.
This spot is at its best when the wind is coming from the south, south-east or east and the swell is rolling up from the west, south-west or south. It works at all tides, on both rising and falling tides, and starts working at 2 m or so before reaching a maximum height of just over 4 m. It is a point break, only to the right, and the waves are hollow and fast, not to mention powerful. Length is pretty good, much better than many other spots around this coast, and will regularly be up to 300 m.
There are no shops or real facilities around here, so bring everything you need. You will need to drive here, and a four wheel drive vehicle will let you get right up to the spot - if you haven't got one, don't worry about it, just park on the gravel track and take a short walk down to the shore.
There are plenty of rocks around here, and the rips can be quite strong.
